About Paul Simon

He ran the boats before he sold them

Most brokers learned yachts from a desk. Paul learned them from the helm, the engine room, and the shipyard floor. Raised in Michigan’s boating culture, he built a marine maintenance business while still in school, then spent 18 years as a licensed captain on both the East and West Coasts, running yachts around the world.

He has managed major refits on large vessels as project manager, which means he reads a survey report the way an owner wishes every broker could: knowing what matters, what it costs, and what to walk away from.

Today he brings that experience to Fraser Yachts, the world’s largest and longest-established full-service yacht brokerage, from its San Diego office on Harbor Drive.
